1) Q. What are the terms of use for using your images?
A. You can find the
terms of use
listed on the
Terms of
Use page.
2) Q. Why do you not allow the images to be used for doll bodies/heads?
A. I do, as long as they are for personal use only.
I have seen plenty of the doll bodies and heads that are being shared
and/or sold. To me they look almost exactly the same as the
original image minus the head or body and sized down a little. I
do not see that as "significant changes" being made.
3) Q. What do you have against Glitter Graphics?
A. Absolutely nothing! I do have a problem with
certain members of that site that decided they didn't want to follow the
Terms of Service though. And I do have a problem with them sending
all their buddies from that site (and others) to try and sign up for
numerous memberships so they can continue to flood my server with emails
and phony sign ups to obtain graphics to share amongst each other.
And last but not least I do have a problem with people that have no
morals when it comes to infringing on artists rights. If you have
no qualms infringing upon world known artists copy rights than I do
believe you would not have second thoughts about infringing mine.
4) Q. How do you make your tubes/ clipart images?
A. I make all images with with
Daz Studio,
Poser
6,
Paint Shop Pro,
Adobe Photo Shop and a variety of
plug in filters.
I purchase files for use with these programs and have bought a license
to use the renders for personal or commercial use. I also make
many of my own files to use with these products.
5) Q. Why are your images different from other peoples?
A. My images are different simply because I
make the textures I use for my images. Some of the textures I make
take a full day to do and some take minutes. In any case, you
won't find my textures anywhere else which means you won't find most of my
images anywhere else either.
6) Q. What do you mean by texture?
A. Think of it like this: When you buy a 3d
model, you purchase the skeleton for it, you can then buy the skin for
the skeleton. In my case I do not purchase the skin, I make my
own. The same applies for clothing. I buy the clothing and
then make my own "textures" for it. Now a skeleton and skin isn't
exactly the right words for it but you get the idea.
I do sometimes use textures I have bought, but probably about 75% of the
time I make my own or add my personal touches in one way or another.
I may use skin I have purchased, but the clothes were made by me and so
on. So this still makes the image a one of a kind.
7) Q. What is a tube, png file, psd file, psp image
and why do you only make png files?
A. I have been asked this more and more as
of late. In my personal opinion the advantages of png files
outweigh any other type of lossless image file that can retain a
transparent background (when it comes to merged layer graphics or
"tubes"). The size of a png is smaller (better for space on
your pc and my site), more programs can be used to open them and the
thumbnails actually show up in windows without having to install any
program or plug in at all. In this case bigger isn't always
better. For a detailed comparison take a look at this
article that
I wrote.
8) Q. How many gigs of files do you have for download?
A. Keeping track of how many files I have is a
task in itself, never mind how much space they take up! I will say
one thing though, the amount of "gigs" would be far less than almost any
other site out there, simply because I offer png files. Most do
not. Other file formats take up to 3 times the amount of space
that pngs do but yet I still offer just as many images if not more than
anyone else. Again, if you are curious as to why, take a look at
the comparison I wrote on png files.
9) Q. How often do you update the members area?
A. I update weekly/bi-weekly and I add
between 100-300 new images per month - often more.
With a 12 month membership purchase that works out to 100 (or more) new images per
month for $2.50. That's a deal in itself! Not to mention the
10,000 images that are already available in the membership area.
That works out to about .0003 cents per image. I don't think I
have seen any place that has that kind of value for the price of a
membership. If you would like to take a look at how many images
were uploaded last month, take a look at the
stats page.
10) Q. How long have you been making graphics?
A. I stumbled upon a wonderful program
called Paint Shop Pro in 2003. I have been hooked ever since.
Poser came in 2004 and I fumbled my way through it for nearly a year
before I gave up on it. In late 2005 I found Daz Studio (much
easier to use than Poser in my opinion) and again I was hooked. In
early 2006 I decided to give poser another try and finally got it to do
what I wanted... sometimes. I now use it when I have to, there are
just some things that cannot be done in Studio yet.
11) Q. Who designed your layout?
A. I did. I built this site and many
others from scratch. I also made all of the images for it (aside
from some of my web sets and link ware sets).
12) Q. Why are your prices so low?
A. I get asked this a lot believe it or
not. It's not that I feel my images and disks are not worth higher
prices. I feel that everyone on the net should have a chance to
have royalty free art to work with. Let's face it, in this day and
age people value their hard earned money and it's not always feasible to
spend a lot of money on a few graphics, no matter how much we want them.
I am hoping that by keeping my prices low I am giving an opportunity to
everyone on the net, to indulge in their favorite hobby or even start an
online business of their own with images they know they can trust in.
I am not looking to get rich, if that was the case I would have gave up
long ago. I just want to share what I have created and be able to
pay my hosting bill every month. :)
13) Q. Why should I buy clipart from Sweet Peas Tubes & Clipart?
A. Well if the information above
isn't enough, there is one final thing to consider. You will not
find the same images over and over again. I use different clothes,
different characters, and different poses all the time. I tend to
look for things that not a lot of people use, and personalize them with
my own textures so that it's not the same old same old. My ethnic
characters are truly ethnic, not just the same characters with darker
skin applied. I spend many many hours looking for the things that
I will use and I spend even longer making them into something that you
will only find here and that's a guarantee. That is not to say
that I don't have some things that others have... of course I do.
You may even find a duplicate pose once or twice, but two things I am
told over and over again is "Wow, I have never seen tubes like yours
before" & "I never liked poser tubes until I saw yours".
14) Q. Are the images on disk the same as what's inside the membership
area?
A. No. While there are some that are
similar and a few of the same characters have been used inside the
membership area, the disks all have there own images unique to them
except for the Super Sampler Disk. This disk is a sample of what
is inside the membership, so naturally those are all contained inside
the membership area.
15) Q. I own a site with another person, is it ok for me to share the
images I download with my partner/co-owner for the web pages/sig tags/
candy wrappers/etc.. we make and share/sell?
A. Let me ask you this: Would it be
ok for me to buy your web pages and then share them with my partners or
friends? You are paying for an exclusive, non-transferable
license to use the images. The license is for one person and one
person only... YOU. Not you and your partner.
This is outlined in the terms of use and is strictly enforced. If
you have a partner and you would both like to use the images
please email me and we will talk.
For anyone that didn't clearly understand the answer above... No! it is
not ok to share the images with anyone, including your partner/co-owner.
16) Q. Are you the owner of Sweet Peas Tubes .Com?
A. No. Sweet Peas Tubes and
Clipart is in no way associated with that domain.
17) Q. Who are you really?
A. I am just me. A normal person from
a normal city. I work hard for everything I have accomplished and
I take pride in that. I take my work very seriously and you will
often find me here for between 8 and 12 hours a day. I have
degrees and certificates in web design, accounting and psychology (weird
combinations, I know) and I still think I'd like to go to law school one
day. I feel that learning is a life long process and one should
never stop doing it. I
read every night (never skip it) and spoil my son at every opportunity
possible. I also have a
fiancé who loves to spoil me whenever he can, and he does a great job at
it. I am a happy go
lucky kind of person with huge determination and a drive to always do
something even better than I did it before. I am funny, witty,
optimistic & sarcastic and although my iq test numbers are higher than
Einstein's the English language eludes me, if it wasn't for spell check
and grammar check I would be lost. Einstein would be proud though,
we both have a thing for math. ;)
I hope this answers all of your questions, but if I have left something
out, please feel free to ask.
