*For this tutorial we will be using PSP7/AS.*

Ready? Lets go!

Open a new transparent image in PSP,
size 400 x 400; we will crop it later.
Click on preset shapes, and use rectangle/line width set at 3.

Set your stroke and fill colors. I will be using gold for stroke and black #000000 for the fill.

Now, make a rectangle the size that you want your finished award to be.

Add a new layer; go back to preset shapes/line width, and set at 2.

Stroke color the same, but set the fill color to "null."

Next, draw a rectangle inside of the
first gold outline.

Add a new layer using the same
preset shapes/rectangle line width 1; draw your rectangle, and repeat this step again.

Now we want add a new layer, and begin decorating the award with tubes, corner dings, and a center tube.

Click on layers/merge/merge visible, and save in PSP format (File/Save As).  Name your award, so that you can keep a blank copy of it for future use.

*If you would like to add an effect to one of the gold layers, do not merge yet.* (See page 2 of this tutorial.)

Add a new layer, and type in your text.  Go to File/Save As, and give your award
a new name.

Open AS and click on File/Open, and open the award. Now we want to crop and save as a gif file.
